In recent years, Metob’s Michelau site has established itself as a center of excellence for coating aluminum parts. In collaboration with a premium car manufacturer, a new plant for cathaphoretic e-coating was designed. It went into operation in mid-2018. What makes this plant special is that it was built exclusively for cathodic dip coating of aluminum parts. The highly sought-after degrease and etch-passivation process was integrated as the ideal pretreatment.
